CHESTERFIELD — The Select Board rejected a request for loan forgiveness from a homeowner at 50 Bray Road. Roslyn Malkin had sought forgiveness of an $18,624 housing rehabilitation loan balance after deciding to sell her property due to health issues. Roger Fuller, co-chair of the Select Board, said approving the request would set a precedent requiring review of all prior loan payoffs and that maintaining consistent standards for loan recipients was essential.

The board also unanimously awarded a $13,289 contract to Girard Cooling and Heating for a heat pump installation at the library and approved lien discharges for three regional properties.
