Select Board approves water system and cemetery work; backs grant and new commissioner.

Select Board · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Chesterfield Select Board backs water system project and cemetery improvements. The board unanimously awarded a Community Center water system upgrade to KleenWater and approved $25,700 in Free Cash for cemetery work across four cemeteries, declining only a gravestone conservation project pending further research on pollen damage. The board appointed Michelle Ryan to the Cemetery Commission and set April 1 as the final submission deadline for Annual Town Meeting articles.

A historical survey proposal requesting $25,000 was deferred to a fall Special Town Meeting after Select Board member Trish Colson-Montgomery raised concerns that homes listed on Massachusetts' MACRIS database face homeowner insurance denial.
