CHESTERFIELD — Select Board approves wage increases for Council on Aging and Highway Department staff. Co-Chair Trish Colson-Montgomery and Clerk Donald Willard voted unanimously to set Financial Manager Diane LaBarge's rate at $23.10 per hour effective July 1, 2026. The board then voted 2-1 to approve Highway Department Laborer Scott Carpenter at $25 per hour, with Co-Chair Roger Fuller dissenting in favor of $26 hourly; Fuller argued the $150 annual difference was immaterial and necessary for employee retention.

The concurrent Finance Committee meeting unanimously approved Articles 1 and 2 of the Special Town Meeting warrant.
