Select Board · Meeting of June 2, 2026
Chesterfield Select Board approves articles one and two for June 24 Special Town Meeting. Roger Fuller, Trish Colson-Montgomery, and Don Willard voted unanimously to advance the warrant, with Fuller noting the BESS moratorium article alone satisfies needs; two Planning Board articles may be removed. The board unanimously awarded spring tree removal to LashCo, lowest bidder, for 18 trees at an undisclosed price contingent on securing $4,225 from the Cemetery Commission for three additional trees at Center Cemetery.
Eversource's South Street and Cowper Road pole project was adjourned after abutters raised concerns; the utility agreed to remove one pole and relocate another 40 feet from the river, with revised plans triggering a new hearing. Police Chief Peter Fappiano requested full-time officer budgeting for fiscal 2028 or 2029, citing inability to fill part-time slots due to state training mandates.
