CHESTERFIELD — Select Board approves FY25 audit findings and emergency water system grant. The board unanimously approved the Scanlon & Associates Engagement Letter addressing five FY25 audit findings related to investment recording, receipt procedures, and outstanding taxes. Emergency Management Director Larry Holmberg presented a $4,680 grant award, split between Chesterfield and Goshen, to install an emergency water intake system at New Hingham Regional Elementary School, whose well has failed three times due to lightning strikes.
Co-Chairs Roger Fuller and Trish Colson-Montgomery and Clerk Donald Willard unanimously designated Holmberg as grant signatory and signed the grant paperwork. Fire Chief David Hewes reported the new rescue truck will transfer to Greenwood in Attleboro at end of August; the board tabled further outfitting discussion pending the truck's arrival and requested Hewes provide an equipment list and estimated costs.
