Conservation Commission approves septic system upgrade with conditions

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 19, 2026

Chesterfield Conservation Commission approves septic upgrade on Old Chesterfield Road with conditions. The commission, chaired by John Follet, granted a negative determination of applicability to applicant Amber Kellogg for the septic system upgrade, requiring work to commence in spring and a preconstruction meeting to address impacts to an intermittent stream and wetland buffers. The commission also reviewed a forest cutting plan for a 15-acre harvest abutting Scout Pond with four stream crossings and ten wetland crossings, restricting cutting to frozen conditions and assigning informal monitoring.

A preconstruction meeting for the North Street/Damon Pond Road infrastructure project is scheduled for January 20 to establish wetland monitoring protocols.
