Chesterfield Records 12 Property Deeds in Past Month, Most Without Disclosed Prices

Chesterfield recorded 12 property deeds between July 24 and Aug. 22, according to Hampshire County Registry of Deeds records, though only four disclosed a sale price. Those four ranged from $98,000 to $340,000, with a median of $100,000. The period's highest-priced transaction was 9 Ireland St., which sold for $340,000 on Aug. 14 from Susan E. and Alan P. Lavallee to Citizens Bank NA. Ireland Street accounted for three of the month's 12 deeds, more than any other street. With two-thirds of recorded transactions lacking price data and several involving banks, trusts or homestead filings rather than open-market sales between individual buyers, the available figures offer only a partial picture of the month's housing activity.
