Chesterfield Library Trustees reviewed circulation gains and operational challenges at their March 9 meeting. Director Bindy reported February 2026 circulation increased from February 2025, with 250 patron visits for the month, and will submit the town report this week. The library requires a third person for help, as Donna Monroe transitions to substitute-only status and Dianne Mikucki assumes her weekly hours.
Bindy raised concerns about the town's new GIS health insurance plan, fearing reduced coverage quality compared to her previous Blue Cross-Blue Shield policy through Hampshire County Trust Group. Chesterfield resident Charlene Biardi presented ADA accessibility concerns about the proposed bathroom addition design, citing wheelchair access issues; the trustees determined the current design best accommodates septic system and exit door constraints.
