Chesterfield Council on Aging Welcomes Intern, Reports Program Expansion

Council on Aging · Meeting of February 2, 2026

Chesterfield Council on Aging approves prior minutes and welcomes document-digitization intern to expand workflows. Director Eileen Theroux reported significant program growth over six months, including new evidence-based Tai Chi classes, a veterans' coffee hour, a master gardener lunch program, a Beatles sing-along, and an ongoing bereavement support group. The council is recruiting volunteers to staff a consortium job fair on April 25 at New Hingham School, and intern Benjamin Lang from Greenfield Community College will digitize paper documents to improve agency workflows.

Fiscal Manager Diane LaBarge presented an expense and income report covering July 1 through January 19, and the board discussed allocating historical funds using program-cost percentages, with further discussion planned at an April Finance Working Group meeting.
