Board of Health approves special event permits for July events.

CHESTERFIELD — The Chesterfield Board of Health approved sanitation provisions for two July special events after confirming portable toilet and sanitary station plans met standards. Chair John Chandler signed the event permits and a follow-up enforcement letter to a Mount Road property owner regarding a prior nuisance complaint, requiring response within one week. The board reviewed Transfer Station fee schedule changes proposed by member Peg Whalen and directed her to examine fee structures in comparable towns, Worthington, Cummington, and Williamsburg, before deciding on modifications at the next meeting.

Chandler and member Kirke Henshaw confirmed attendance at a May 6 emergency preparedness tabletop exercise hosted by the Hampshire Hazards Mitigation and Community Collaborative Emergency Preparedness Coalition.
